This water-resistant sunscreen is specially formulated for those with active lifestyles and is also ideal for daily use for both adults and children. Made with zinc oxide, it helps to reflect and scatter UVA and UVB rays while knotgrass extract, rich in flavonoids, combats the signs of aging.
Key Ingredients:
- Zinc Oxide: natural mineral compound that reflects and scatters UVA and UVB rays
- Polygonum Aviculare Extract (Knotgrass Extract): a botanical extract rich in flavonoids that fights signs of aging, enhances skin firmness and elasticity and reduces the appearance of wrinkles

Works but classic sunscreen issues
This isn't a miracle product. It is sticky as heck and leaves a white cast. However, it does a wonderful job of protecting your skin and for days where I don't care how I look (I just want protection from the sun), I reach for this product!

It has potential
I cannot do sunscreen with any chemicals, so I am a huge fan of Elta's Physical Tinted Spf 41. I was hoping I would love this just as much, but 1. It is difficult to rub into skin. If you have dry skin, you may need a moisturizer before applying this. 2. The white cast is strong. It does go away, but it is still there. I tried combining the Physical Tinted with this one and it helped a little but...3. the finish is a bit too shiny for me. I would have loved it when I was in my 20s with pretty, dewy skin. I will keep the sunscreen and mix it with the tinted to use on my neck. I like that it's moisturizing, not too heavy, doesn't irritate my skin, and that it's SPF 50.

White Cast
Leaves a thick unblendable white cast on my tan skin. I expected this so I use this for when I run. Not for everyone. I like it for running because it's thick and waterproof. Makes me feel protected and I know it won't go anywhere. Mineral sunscreen for POC should be more accessible but I guess it's not the goal of development for EltaMD

This sunscreen is super protective, however it is very thick and difficult to wash off. It leaves a slight white coloring on your skin too. My husband said the smell is quite strong, and I agreed once I realized it had seeped into my clothes. If you don't mind the white, sticky, impossible to clean aspect you might as well buy a cheaper brand. Interestingly the "Sport" version is way easier to smooth in, not as sticky, and totally worth the cost. (I thought that's what I was buying, and when I learned the mistake I made, Dermstore was less than helpful with the return process.)
