Brighten and balance your skin tone with SkinCeuticals Discoloration Defense, a dark spot corrector that reduces the appearance of hyperpigmentation caused by sun exposure, medical procedures or acne.
Formulated with 3% Tranexamic Acid, 1% Kojic Acid, 5% Niacinamide, and 5% HEPES, the treatment targets stubborn brown patches and post-inflammatory discolouration to even the skin tone and help to minimise the appearance of future marks with continued use. In as little as two weeks, the complexion will be unified, radiant and visibly healthier-looking.
Suitable for all skin types.
Free from parabens, silicones, fragrances, gluten and hydroquinone.
Due to the concentration of Kojic acid in this formula, a shift in color is expected. This could lead to a light brown or amber color, but the formula remains effective.
Twice daily, apply three to five drops to face. For morning use, apply after a SkinCeuticals vitamin C serum and follow with a SkinCeuticals broad-spectrum SPF 50+ sunscreen and limit sun exposure while using this product. Do not use on irritated or broken skin. If irritation occurs, discontinue use.

wish it worked better
I have a couple large patches of melasma aggravated by an IPL treatment. I'm Asian and in my 60's. almost nothing seems to lighten the problem, including retinoid treatments. This seems to lighten it slightly while using 2-3 times a day, but not at a level that would be noticeable to most people. Was hopeful due to the slight lightening early on, but it hasn't improved beyond that. Do not think I will purchase again.

I like SkinCeutical products. I use this product and the CE Ferulic. I think these products work well if used daily. I typically put them on in the morning and evening. I'm not sure how effective they are at reversing skin damage, but I do think they do a good job of preventing further wrinkles, lines, dryness, etc.

This stuff works!
Definitely recommend. I know it's pricey but it works. I had a stubborn red spot that I thought was going to require laser removal by my dermatologist. This stuff got rid of it in about 9 weeks with regular use, once per day as the second step in my nighttime routine. Product texture and smell is pleasant. Usually apply three big drops: forehead and each cheek, and still have about 1/4 bottle after 90 days.

I like discoloration defense, but after talking to my aesthetician, it really does need to be used 2x daily and is more of a "surface level" discoloration agent. After CE ferulic in the AM, I mix a couple drops in with my HA intensifier. In the PM after cleansing and applying retinol, I do the same mixture of disco defense and HA. I am going to the try the Metacell renewal, which supposedly is a deeper penetrating discoloration defense serum (among other benefits).
