Brighten and balance your skin tone with SkinCeuticals Discoloration Defense, a dark spot corrector that reduces the appearance of hyperpigmentation caused by sun exposure, medical procedures or acne.
Formulated with 3% Tranexamic Acid, 1% Kojic Acid, 5% Niacinamide, and 5% HEPES, the treatment targets stubborn brown patches and post-inflammatory discolouration to even the skin tone and help to minimise the appearance of future marks with continued use. In as little as two weeks, the complexion will be unified, radiant and visibly healthier-looking.
Suitable for all skin types.
Free from parabens, silicones, fragrances, gluten and hydroquinone.
Due to the concentration of Kojic acid in this formula, a shift in color is expected. This could lead to a light brown or amber color, but the formula remains effective.
Twice daily, apply three to five drops to face. For morning use, apply after a SkinCeuticals vitamin C serum and follow with a SkinCeuticals broad-spectrum SPF 50+ sunscreen and limit sun exposure while using this product. Do not use on irritated or broken skin. If irritation occurs, discontinue use.

I use this with the Vitamin C E Ferulic and it's made such a difference in my melasma and other hyperpigmentation. All my spots are still there, but far less noticeable from a pre-COVID conversation distance. I just purchased my 4th bottle.

So far so good
I still have some hypermigmentation / melasma on my forehead even after some clear and brilliant treatments. It's the melasma that never goes away. I use this just to help combat some of the discoloration still there and to not get any more when I'm out in the sun. Seeing some difference but not enough to WOW. Will keep using it just to help combat the discoloration.

Undecided about product
Since I received this I have tried it twice and both times it has irritated my skin, with burning, itching, redness and very dry. I usually don't have sensitive skin and have used ingredients like niacinamide before with no problem.. I like the Skinceuticals products and will maybe try this when it's not so dry and cold.

This serum works well together with CE Feurrlic. It hasn't completely worked for my hyperpigmentation but I'm on my second bottle so we'll see how it goes. It's lightweight and feels good on the skin.
