SkinMedica's Age Defense Retinol Complex .25 is formulated to renew the skin's tone and texture without irritating the skin. Retinol helps combat the signs of premature aging while magnolia bark extract soothes inflammation. Ideal for use twice a week to build tolerance to formula.

Apply in the evening after cleansing and toning and before applying your moisturizer. If a retinol product has never been used before, begin twice a week 2-3 days apart, gradually increasing frequency to every other night, and then advancing to each evening or as tolerated. Apply to the entire face. Avoid getting in eyes. If contact occurs, rinse eyes thoroughly with water.
Caution: Do not use if you are pregnant, lactating or planning to become pregnant. Mild redness, peeling and irritation are expected when using this product. Use daily sun protection with SPF 30 or higher and limit sun exposure while using this product and for a week following discontinuation.

Good first time retinol
This is my first time using a retinol and I have to say, so far so good! I was terrified of possible peeling or dryness but I haven't experienced anything too harsh and it's been 3 weeks. I did start phasing it into my night time routine by using it every 3rd night and now I'm up to every other day. I like that once you apply it, it's not drying and there's an actual glow! While it's been too early to see how effective the product is, so far I'm happy with how it sits and feels on my skin. I'll definitely get the .5 serum next!

Definite potency compared to retinols not listing percent retinol content. I had mild flaking but my skin got used to it. Really good pump system that helps keep air out. The last few days of product you have to open the pump up to access it, but that was easy to do.

Amazing Retinol
I have dabbled in retinol for about 3 years now... I have tried skinmedica, skinceuticals, osmosis, drunk elephant, sundar riley, and even prescription tretinoin. This is by far my favorite line of retinol to get. I have gone back and forth for a while at the strength I need, but I always go back to this one. I don't get the irritation like I do with the .5 and it goes well with my other products like phloretin cf and p50.

Got this for my boyfriend and he likes it so far. He is targeting crows feet and frown lines. Has only been using about 3 weeks now so not too much of a difference on the wrinkles but pore size and pimple frequency have definitely decreased! Update - about 8 weeks in and still liking it. Great Start for Someone not used to a Retinol
I had never used a Retinol before transitioning to Skin Medica products. So I decided to start with this. I used it only three times a week and saw smoother skin.
